Order Description
Students will be required to write a public relations plan. This will involve collecting information about an organisation, product, service or event, and identifying a public relations issue that needs to be addressed. The report will require students to do the following:
• Produce a situation analysis – this will require you to identify and discuss an issue which requires a public relations plan. (NB this section must be referenced very carefully).
• Set campaign objectives
• Identify publics
• Recommend a public relations strategy
• Discuss the different Marketing tactics that can be used
• Identify methods of evaluating the plan
The aim of the assignment is to provide an opportunity for students to show their understanding of the subject matter from both a theoretical and practical perspective. This will require students to make use of textbooks, academic and practitioner journals, newspapers and magazines, as well as online sources of information. Students are encouraged to use material from lectures and seminars in their PR plans. Students should consider the structure of their PR plan carefully and demonstrate their understanding of the way in which PR activities are implemented.
